The Art of Coaching Teams Institute addresses the key skills that leaders need to develop high functioning teams. Anyone who facilitates or leads teams — coaches, teachers and administrators — will benefit from this highly interactive training. You will walk away with tools to use immediately as well as with a vision for developing resilient communities of educators. The basis for this learning is a set of “Effective Facilitator Competencies” that can be used as a self-assessment tool to identify areas for learning and growth. The content of this institute expands on Elena Aguliar’s book, The Art of Coaching Teams: Building Resilient Communities of Educators (February 2016). This workshop will be led by Noelle Apostol Colin.

Participants will :

  • Identify effective ways to structure meetings and agendas.

  • Develop the ability to ensure meeting time is purposeful and meaningful.

  • Hone their capacity to increase the emotional intelligence of a team (and their own!)

  • Expand their definition of transformational leadership and reflect on who they want to be as a leader.

  • Increase their ability to cultivate, repair and deepen trust among a team.

  • Refine their ability to address resistance.

  • Improve their ability to create strong agendas that incorporate the principles of adult learning.

  • Reflect on and strengthen their commitment to teams.Increase their capacity to facilitate healthy conflict and manage unhealthy conflict in meetings.

Presenter:

Noelle

Noelle is grateful to have grown up in the diverse city of Houston, Texas. Attending Houston’s public schools, she befriended people from different racial and socioeconomic backgrounds and developed appreciation for difference among people, as well as an awareness of inequality. These experiences deeply influence her work today.

After teaching elementary school for many years, Noelle shifted her focus to developing healthy staff cultures in schools, recognizing that schools must be healthy adult learning organizations to achieve transformational outcomes for historically underserved students. Noelle became an instructional coach and leadership coach to help develop school leaders to be reflective practitioners, in close community with one another, and capable of something new and truly worthwhile. Noelle has worked with Elena Aguliar since 2012 and is a certified Art of Coaching trainer.
