Wisconsin ASCD Board of Directors Self-Nomination
(Deadline: March 1st)

Mission
Wisconsin ASCD, educational leaders advocating effective policies and practices to achieve success for each learner.

Vision
WASCD is Wisconsin's forum for engaging diverse communities. We are a trusted voice advocating for excellence in learning, teaching, and leadership . Our organization is responsive to the ever changing needs of society and is focused on achieving success for each learner.

    Board membership requires the following:
  1. Contributes to the mission, vision and goals of WASCD as one's main purpose for participation.
  2. Maintains current WASCD & ASCD memberships.
  3. Participates, as a new Board member, in an orientation to the Board either at the June Retreat or through an assigned mentor.
  4. Understands WASCD By-Laws, organizational structure, policies and procedures, and the organizational goals and objectives.
  5. Attends all scheduled Board of Directors meetings and the Annual Meeting of the Membership. (June Retreat, August, October in conjunction with the Annual Fall Conference, December, January, and March)
  6. Prepares for Board meetings and contributes to discussions.
  7. Responds to requests for information or feedback.
  8. Serves as an active member on at least one WASCD Committee.
  9. Serves as an ambassador of WASCD encouraging membership and promoting programs, publications, positions and activities.
  10. Networks with Board members, WASCD members and leaders and members of other state organizations and institutions to promote the mission and positions of WASCD.
  11. Serves in a voluntary capacity and receives no compensation for services to WASCD.
