New Educator Series

The New Educator Series is designed to support your district's new induction program.  The focus is on teachers that are new to the profession or in their first few years in their careers.  There will be a 60 minute session every other month starting in September.  Professional learning will be delivered by Heather Anderson.  

Heather Anderson's career spans K-12 and is varied and diverse. Not only is Heather a published author but she has taught in a variety of roles. She spent 10 years working at the elementary level in several different positions. She taught Kindergarten through fifth grade as a classroom teacher, with many of those years in a bilingual classroom. While working at the elementary level, she earned her math specialist certification and worked as a beginning teacher support and assessment (BTSA) provider supporting new teachers. Her positions also included working as a staff developer and peer coach. In that role, she was responsible for all staff development regarding literacy, math, and second language acquisition.

Her areas of expertise are in the gradual release of responsibility, close reading (K-12), accelerating learning for English learners, collaborative learning, differentiated instruction, summative and formative assessments, academic vocabulary acquisition, inclusion, and incorporating literacy into all content areas.

All sessions will be held virtually and will be recorded so that those who are not able to attend the live session can view it at a later date.

$1000.00 for a school district for unlimited seats
